Fusion: Autumn

Pumpkins and plaid just go together perfectly for fall!  I am still a novice at coloring with Copic markers so I usually make 2  or 3 of an image I am going to color.  That way I can practice color combos and have a spare or two for when things go awry.  A slight miracle occurred in the old craft room this week.  I only made two of these delightful coffee sippers and they both turned out just fine!  I couldn't possibly waste that extra lady!  So I switched up the plaids and made another fall card!

I used both the picture and the sketch this week at Fusion - use either or both and join us!

Thankful....FMS459

I am thankful for the beautiful October we have had - even though it may end with our first snowfall in a couple of days!  November is always dark and dreary but I am fortunate to have these two characters hanging around to keep me smiling.  Here they are ready to parade by a local nursing home this week.

Will wanted no part of that fireman's hat.....he dropped it and ran!

But when we got home he thought it was great fun to wear a pumpkin bucket on his head!

Almost two year olds have definite opinions in life!

Have fun with angles on Jen Brum's sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!

Christmas Bells.......FMS458

Who says jingle bells are just for Christmas?!? Jingle bells always make me smile.  I used to have them on my back door year round because I love the sound.  But the Big Guy couldn't take it any more so I took them off and made a smaller cluster to hang on a kitchen cupboard.  It was the cupboard where I keep my teacups so usually I was the only one hearing the bells!  But then we got new cabinets and the bells just wouldn't work with the new doors and handles.  A dilemma!  So now the bells hang off the doorknob of my downstairs half bath.  It is much more polite to jingle the bells than yell  "Hey anyone in there?"

And the grandkids can reach them to make noise just for the fun of it.......Big Guy may be getting tired of this soon as well.....

Fusion: Purple Night

There is a fabulous picture to inspire you this week at Fusion!  I embraced the purple and black and continued my Halloween card making.  This card started with the sentiment because it makes me laugh.  And I do believe it is true!  I have never owned a cat because I find them scarier than any Halloween witch.....not that I have ever met a Halloween witch.....

I love to combine the sketch and photo at Fusion!  You decide what works best for you!  Hope you join us!

Boo To You! FMS457

The Big Guy:

1. loves candy.....
2. loves kids.......
3. loves to MacGyver stuff.....

Therefore Halloween should be even more entertaining than usual around here. We usually get well over 100 trick or treaters and it is always a fun evening.  However because of you know what I said, "No way are all those kids coming up to our door!"

So the Big Guy is working on a project.  Imagine a bobsled run for candy bars that will start on our back porch railing, stretch across our walkway and out to the sidewalk.  It involves plastic piping and a bit of swearing but I am confident the end result will work just fine!  Stay tuned....

I am hosting this week at Freshly Made Sketches  - have fun with the sketch!  I will be visiting your galleries for inspiration!

October.....FMS456

Where I live in northern New York the first two weeks of October are just ablaze with color - my absolute favorite time of year!  I get outside every chance I get because I don't want to miss one minute of sunshine, blue skies and colorful trees - and because I also know that dreary old November is waiting in the wings!  So I couldn't resist this sweet stamp from Picket Fence called A World of Octobers - it says it all!

And Miss Emma is sporting a couple of fall colors herself after winning two ribbons in her first ever horse show!  We are so proud of her - and that beautiful and oh so patient horse named Joy.....

I love Jen Timko's sweet landscape sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches.  Join us!

Stamp Review Crew: Dry Brush Background

The Stamp Review Crew is featuring the Dry Brush Background stamp today.  I used Halloween colors to create an eerie background complete with bats and a flying witch.  The tree from Life Is Beautiful worked perfectly to anchor the scene.  Halloween will be here before you know it and it is important to pick out just the right pumpkin!

If you missed Nikki's terrific work head back there......

Otherwise head onward to see Betty's delightful creations!

Hand Stamped Sentiments is having a Halloween Challenge this week.

Fusion: Old MacDonald

My favorite way to do our Fusion challenges is to use both the picture and the sketch.  When I saw that wide open sketch and those cute animals I thought hooray - no problem!  I searched through my animal stamps and found dogs and cats, sea animals and zoo animals, tropical birds and bats, jungle creatures and polar bears - not one single barnyard animal anywhere!  Seriously?!?!?  So I used the sketch and kept it country.  And that is all I have time to write......I have some shopping to do......
