Berry Sweet....FMS470

We are a long way from strawberry season here but it is nice to think about!  Somewhere under all that snow those little berry plants are sleeping away. So in the meantime I will make a few sweet berry cards to be ready for spring birthdays!

Baby Shark

I just had to play along with the final Cas(e) this Sketch. My inspiration for the card came from that sassy little Will who still won't say Grandma. I babysat for him yesterday afternoon  while we watched the football playoffs.  We had a grand time playing with mini footballs and eating snacks.  When his mother came to pick him up I reported that he had learned what a football was and how to cluck like a chicken (don't ask) but still not a Grandma type word had escaped his lips!  She laughed and started to sing Baby Shark.  He started doing hand motions (who knew there were hand motions?!?) and when she got to Grandma Shark he made the Grandma Shark motion and looked at me.  I guess that's a start!

And of course you know what is on the inside of this card.......

Such a fun sketch to work with!

Fusion: Flowers

My cousin's birthday is next week so I decided to "send her flowers" for the occasion.  But then I received some more of those snarky swaps in the mail and I am now leaning toward the snark side!

Enjoy these sentiments - I did! (And if I weren't such a lazy bones I would photograph the cards for you to enjoy as well!)

I'm starting meetings at my house for people who have OCD......I don't have it. I'm just hoping they'll take a look around and start cleaning.

This card was made by hand....If you throw it away those same hands will make a doll in your image and stick pins in its butt!

My exercise routine consists of doing diddly squats......Hope you are having a more active day! Happy Birthday!

I am very good at doing diddly squats! That might be the birthday card to send instead!

This specialty designer paper has a beautiful shine on the pattern!

I combined the sketch and the photo for Fusion this week!  Hope you join us!

little baby BIG LOVE.....FMS469

I send lots of cards to friends welcoming grandbabies and this sweet giraffe is perfect for a boy or a girl!  I am fortunate to live near my two grandchildren.  I never object when their moms drop one or the other off for the day.  They definitely help keep me sane during these crazy times.  Emma is 8 and is already my able assistant when I need help with my iPhone or iPad.  Will just turned 2 and is obsessed with his letters and numbers.  He can count to 20, say the alphabet and plays forever with his magnetic letters and numbers,  His mom is so proud and I say.....yeah yeah yeah but he doesn't call me anything yet!  Every time he comes I work on it but he just laughs and scoots away to play.  I have tried every version of grandma I can think of but nothing seems to work for him.

Here he is holding his favorite letter - W - as in What are you waiting for Will - say Grammy!

Kim's sketch was perfect for my baby card!  Hope you join us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!

CAS(E) this Sketch

The Design Team at CAS(E) This Sketch led by Chrissy Larsen has provided some amazing inspiration these past few years.  The sketches were always innovative and inspiring leading to oh so creative designs.  And some sketches were down right head scratching and made you dig deep for a creative interpretation.   I have looked forward to the DT designs every Thursday. They will be ending their wonderful run soon and will be missed!

I used umbrellas as elements of this week's sketch designed by Michelle Leone.

Stamp Review Crew: Art Gallery

The Stamp Review Crew is featuring the set Art Gallery today.  It is part of the Fine Art Floral Suite of products.  I had an idea in mind as I awaited my shipment of products.....but as you know we often have to fall back and punt these days!  My stamps and dies arrived just in time but everything else is somewhere in UPS land.  So I changed my color scheme plan to go with Playing With Patterns DSP.  I used the word "just" from the diecut "just wanted to say" and I masked off the "I'm" in the sentiment so only "thinking of you" got inked.  And just like that a new sentiment was born!

I used the sketch from Fab Friday as the basis for my design.

Nikki Spencer does fabulous work!  Head back there if you missed it!

Otherwise keep going to see what treats Kelly Kent has in store!

Every Day Is a Chocolate Kind of Day!

Whether it is hot chocolate or chocolate cookies or chocolate doughnuts I am all in!  If chocolate keeps you going during this crazy time I say go for it!

I joined in a "snarky" swap this month and I am just starting to receive some of the cards and they are making me laugh out loud.  This is the card I mailed to 12 snarky friends.

And here is the inside.....

Here are some sentiments I have received so far on the snarky cards:

I didn't make it to the gym today......that makes 5 years in a row.

Look, I'm not saying you are old.....but if you were milk I would sniff you first.

When I was running today I thought I heard someone clapping.....it was just my thighs cheering me on.

I want you to know that someone cares......not me but someone.

If you ever need a slightly distracted unsympathetic friend....I am here for you.

They are definitely making me smile!

The Card Concept is having a hot chocolate kind of day challenge.

Fusion: Cocoa

Cold days and hot cocoa are definitely part of my world these days!  I am sitting by the fire as I type having a cup right now!  My Christmas tree is still up and twinkling.  I have always put my house "back together" on New Year's Day but I just couldn't this year.  I need another week or two of its sparkly charm.  With all of the craziness happening in the world today a full grown tree still in my living room decorated with lights, beads and ornaments doesn't seem crazy at all!

My favorite way to play at Fusion is to combine the sketch and the photo. Hope you join us!

Today's Plan.....FMS467

Feel free to replace the word coffee with whatever gets you through the day!  Crafting, Diet Coke and napping work well for me these days - followed by tea, supper and watching BritBox.  Anyone else a fan of British TV?  The Big Guy is not a fan.....says he can't possibly follow programs that are not in English.....sigh....I am presently in the midst of Lark Rise to Candleford without leaving the comfort of my den!  And the Big Guy?  Well he is in the living room enjoying his new subscription to Peacock and watching ski racing from Austria............

And part of my New Year's crafting resolutions is that I will create two cards for each challenge I do - I need to replenish my stash!

I love Jen Mitchell's slim line design! I made two mini slim cards that measure 6 by 3 1/2 Hope you join us at Freshly Made Sketches!

Stamp Review Crew: So Sentimental

Happy New Year!  It is great to be back after the Christmas Break!  Time to clear the holiday clutter from my craft room and get back to stamping!

The Stamp Review Crew is featuring the versatile set So Sentimental today.  SO many wonderful sentiments that can be used on SO many cards SO perhaps that is why it is call SO Sentimental!

When I saw "This calls for confetti!" I immediately thought it would pair perfectly with images from Zoo Globe to use as a baby card or a birthday card,  Since I couldn't decide which I made two of these!  The little confetti stamp is also part of the So Sentimental set.

Since I have been mailing all my cards these past few months - no hand delivery - I kept the globe simple and was very pleased that it still looks cute!  You could easily step it up and make a shaker card using one of the plastic snow globe inserts.  Enjoy the hop!

I am sure Kelly Kent has something wonderful to share.  Head back to her if you missed it!

Otherwise hop ahead to see Lou Kitzelmon's beautiful work!

The Paper Players are starting 2021 with a use something new challenge.  I received Zoo Globe in my last order of 2020 and was happy to ink it up to start the new year!
