Have A Fa-BOO-lous Halloween!

A quick and easy Halloween card to day since there is a lot to do before tonight's festivities~!  We usually have over 100 trick or treaters so there is a lot of action ahead!  Even though my card is very simple there is a touch of something unexpected......I carried the web over to the back just for fun!

Emma and Baxter are ready for the festivities - look out Danica - there is someone else thinking about racing cars!

Have a fa-BOO-lous Halloween!

Jingle Bells Rock! FMS210

I love the color red and I love jingle bells! Yes I was that kid in grade school that always wanted the bells when the music teacher passed out the instruments!  So in my world red glittery jingle bells add a merry touch to any Christmas card!

Someone else I know was looking rather merry herself in red this week on her trip to the apple orchard.

Cindy Lovell's cute sketch for us this week at Freshly Made Sketches packs a triple punch!   I used Holly Jolly greetings for the sentiment and background stars and red glitter paper for the jingle bell diecuts.

Happy New Home....FMS209

My daughter needed a "Happy New House" card so I used a house from last year's Holiday Home and set it in front of those majestic trees from Wonderland.

And I have had a few questions recently about my own house - specifically about my kitchen remodel. Such a long story......and it is not over yet but I can see the finish line. The workers (my son-in-law, my husband and me) started in mid-April and by the end of May the kitchen was functional. But those workers became way too interested in summertime fun and preferred boating on the lake in their spare time - instead of finishing up the kitchen.

Thank Heavens it rains a bit in the summer so my son-in-law tiled the backsplash and the big guy painted the walls.  But that gal in charge of window treatments and picking out a new kitchen set still hasn't gotten around to it.  She is always disappearing upstairs mumbling something to the other workers about having to make a card or two.

So what else is left to do?  The crown molding is ready to go but not installed.  The walls are empty and the pantry doors need painting.  The pressure is on to get everyone going again before the snow flies.  Once there is snow on the ground those boaters turn into skiers and any finishing touches will have to wait until mud season in April!

Here's a peek at my tiled backsplash - it is way more icy blue in real life than in the picture!

So if your kitchen is all cozy and finished you have time to join us at Freshly Made Sketches!  I love Jen Brum's wide open sketch this week!

All Is Bright! PPA272

It's no secret that I am letting the beautiful designer paper from Stampin' Up! do the heavy lifting on my holiday cards this year!  This card uses Holidays Fancy Foil Vellum - those silvery snowflakes are beautiful......but those are all the snowflakes I want to see for a while.  Right now I am happy enjoying scenes like this one.....a beautiful autumn sunset from a friend's deck!

Hope you join us at Pals Paper Arts this week!

D is For Duck..........#GDP006

Love the sketch at Global Design Project this week! I took a break from holiday and fall themes to create a fun baby card using the alphabet and that sweet baby duck! Meanwhile my "baby" is working hard these days to match sounds and letters in nursery school!

A is for apple.................

Warm Wishes - FMS 207

This card is full of warm wishes for the holidays!  Our World Cardmaking Day in Atlanta was also full of warm wishes.....oh that Southern Hospitality!  It was great connecting with other demonstrators from all over the country!  I thought you might enjoy seeing what some demos presented just before lunch.

Candy Ford showed off this adorable table full of treats for a Halloween gathering!

Amy Whelan designed a simple coloring kit for adults using Lighthearted Leaves - this project was a HUGE hit with the crowd!

And finally Linda Heller designed some amazing cards using the new thinlits and images from Embellishment Ornaments!

Linda was also the demo whisperer for the day.  She and her husband Matt provided all the AV equipment.  And Linda was the voice in my ear keeping me on track during my presentation!

Kim blocked out a wonderful sketch for us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Hope you join in!

The Stamp Review Crew: Happy Scenes

The Stamp Review Crew is showcasing Happy Scenes this week.  I stamped the pine trees twice to make a snowscape.  So serene and peaceful - especially when you are inside looking out!

The possibilities with this set are endless so I am sure you will find lots of inspiration as you go through the hop!

Hop back to Nikki's blog if you missed her wonderful creations or head onward to Becky's delightful deigns!

There were lots of happy scenes in Atlanta this past weekend as well!  I traveled to a World Cardmaking Day event put on by Brian King and Pam Morris.  This is the third year for this event and it is always an amazing gathering of stampers. There was lots of stamping, lots of discussion and lots of fun! I was honored to be one of the presenters this year!  My topic?  Clean and simple cards!

What a great group at our table!

I was lucky to have dinner with these fabulous stampers!  (Nancy Lempinen, Nance Leedy, Claire Broadwater and Dawn Tidd)

Lighthearted Thanks! PPA270

That fabulous sentiment from Six Sayings doesn't need embellishing - it is perfect just the way it is! Today I am thankful to be on a plane and headed to a World Card Making Day gathering this weekend in Atlanta.  Brian King and Pam Morris always put on a wonderful show!  Our first gathering three years ago was only 25 demonstrators - now we are over 100!  I should come home with some fabulous swaps to share with you......stay tuned.......

Pals Paper Arts has a beautiful fall combo for us this week!  Join us!

I used the sketch at Cas(e) This Sketch for my layout.
