Stamp Review Crew: Forever Fern

The Stamp Review Crew is featuring Forever Fern today - a beautiful set with coordinating diecuts. The first card I made with this set featured a summery bundle of greens. (You can see it here.)  I decided to keep the bundle theme going in my card today using fall colors.  The Gilded Autumn Designer Paper is gorgeous and provides a perfect fall backdrop.  With a change of colors and DSP I will be able to make a beautiful Christmas bouquet with it - when I finally sit down to get those holiday cards going!

If you missed Charlet Mallett's beautiful designs head back there......

Otherwise stop by my friend Mike Funke's blog to see what he created - his work is always wonderful!

I used the sketch from Sunday Stamps for my design.

I also played along with The Paper Players Challenge - across the top row.

Mine! Mine! Mine! FMS450

If you are a Disney fan you recognize this sentiment from Finding Nemo. Those seagulls shouted it every time they were on screen!  On our last trip to Disney World we stayed at the Art of Animation Resort in "Radiator Springs" from the movie Cars.  At the time that was Emma's favorite movie.  But one night as we walked the grounds to check out the other themed areas we heard those seagulls shouting Mine! Mine! Mine!  And sure enough there they were up on the side of a nearby building.

I can't begin to count how many times that week we had to walk by those seagulls to hear them shout!  So when I saw this stamp set from My Favorite Things I just had to get it to make a card for Emma's birthday!

Karren has a fun sketch for us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Those circles somehow morphed into seagulls on my card!  Hope you join us and put your own spin on our sketch!

Fusion: Dragonfly

Those little dragonflies are so sweet on my card -  but let's talk about the real world.  Emma's dad is building a family room addition on their house so there have been many opportunities for critters to wander in through open doors and windows.  This week a dragonfly ended up in the living room and dive bombed everyone (lots of shrieking from Emma) before my daughter got it to calm down and it actually settled on her fingers. Then she politely showed him the door!

We have a sweet and summery challenge at Fusion this week!  I drew inspiration from the photo and the sketch.

Triangles......FMS449

I literally stuck with the sketch this week!  Just had fun with the new stitched triangles from SU and some summery colors.  I actually made a few more versions of this with all the spare triangle pieces!  It was like putting together colorful puzzles.  I got so involved that the afternoon slipped away and I realized I needed an anniversary card for the Big Guy.  True confessions: I went out and bought one.....

I loved playing with Cecile's design this week - hope you do too at Freshly Made Sketches!

Just Saying Hello

So many of our wonderful stamping gatherings have been cancelled because of......you know.....so a few of the gals I stamp with started a Facebook page where we share ideas and of course our cards.  A challenge and inspiration cards are posted every day.  I can't keep up with that daily but every now and then I jump in.  And when a recent challenge was "Lots of White Space"  I jumped!

I followed the sketch from Cas(e) this Sketch.

Summer Images......FMS448

Oh that beautiful wavy paper is the perfect backdrop for my stamped images from the Whale Done bundle!  No vacation trips to the ocean for us this year because of you know what but it has been a gloriously warm sunny summer.  Perhaps a bit too warm.......

Guess I should have removed the candle from the dining room windowsill yesterday....lol.....

I hope you find some time this week to play around with Jen Brum's  fun sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!

Fusion: Fruit

I knew there was a reason why I saved this last swatch of designer paper from two - or maybe three - years ago. It has lived in my scrap basket just waiting for its moment to shine. Its glossiness is lost in the photo but in person it steals the show!

Our growing summer growing season here is very short but Miss E and her friends managed to pick quite a few fresh blueberries recently.

Which led to these treats......

Gotta love summer sweetness!

I love combining both the sketch and the photo at Fusion!  Hope you join us!

Lots of possibilities with Kim's wonderful sketch this week!  Hope you join us at Freshly Made Sketches!
