Kick Some Grass!

A stamping friend proposed a NBUS challenge on a FB page and I said -  "Sure. I probably have one or two stamps that have never seen ink."

Yeow that was a lie......I have far too many images that have never seen ink!

This sweet bunny was just hanging around on my desk.  I think I have had him for 6 months and hadn't even put him away yet!  Perhaps I was just saving him for spring.  The sentiment is perfect for what is happening in our world today.  This is headed to a friend working in health care.  We can't thank our health care workers enough for the job they are doing right now.

I used Claire's sketch at The Paper Players for my design.

Sending Flowers......FMS428

Our niece - who works for the city of Rochester -  received a wonderful recognition this week.  This was the press release:

March is Women’s History Month and in light of the 200th anniversary of Susan B. Anthony's birth and the centennial of the 19th amendment, Mayor Warren is acknowledging and celebrating the important role women play in shaping our families, city, nation, and the world—especially those who are often overlooked.
Today's exceptional woman of City Hall is Sarah Boyce, Principal Staff Assistant (City Budget Analyst).

Sarah's parents grew up in the town where Susan B. Anthony was born and she was born there as well -  which is kinda cool!  The first thing the Big Guy said was we have to send her flowers. But nope.....everything closed this week so we were out of luck.

So I decided to channel Narelle (one of our FMS team members who makes amazing floral designs) and create a floral card for Sarah.  Sending virtual flowers is the best we can do right now but she will know how proud we are of her!

Just Bee-cause

Hanging around home is the norm these days and it seems like there has been plenty to do.  I haven't even started a Netflix binge yet!  I have managed to do a major clean up in my craft room and my plan is to send out at least one card a day to say hello to a friend.  I loved the sweet simple sketch at Cas(e) this Sketch so I made six of these bee cards to send out his week......just bee-cause.....

Fusion: Cake

I thought we all could use some cake....and a smile today.  I live in upstate NY and we are all hanging close to home these days.  I did attend a staff meeting at the library earlier this week to discuss the closing of the library for the rest of the month - or perhaps even longer.  It is such a surreal situation we are all in.  As I left I ran into one of our regular library patrons who was walking by.  We kept our distance and chatted for a minute about the library closing.  And then she left me with these words:  I am almost 80 and I will be careful but I will not be afraid.......

I am so going to try to follow her example!

I love a good piece of cake so I went with the cake theme and the sketch this week at Fusion.  Hope you join us!

It's Spring! FMS427

This is a worrisome time but I am doing my best to find smiles where I can.  The snow is almost gone, the sun is warmer and I am still walking my two miles outside every day.  Technology keeps us connected and all of a sudden I have extra crafting and reading time!

My mother's facility is now enforcing a no visitors policy.  I am grateful they are doing their best to keep the residents safe.  We had our first face time phone call yesterday thanks to Elizabeth, the activities director.  My mother had never seen such a thing and Erin and I kept laughing at her comments and reactions as she tried to figure it out.  She kept pointing to me and telling Elizabeth...."Doesn't she look great?  That's my daughter and she's 93!  You would never know it!"

I do look great for 93!  Hope you find a bit of joy each day......

Stamp Review Crew: Dressed to Impress

The Stamp Review Crew is featuring Dressed to Impress this week.  It is such a fun set and pairs beautifully with matching designer paper.

And I swear Miss Emma has been a fashionista since she started to walk and talk.  I will share with you a Facebook post my daughter Erin wrote on Friday - when it was hat day at school............

Emma has a hat day at school today and left the house in a polka-dotted dress and matching Fedora. Walking out, she added her riding boots and long-handled umbrella to the ensemble.
Erin: "Wow, you're adorable! You look like a little supermodel today!"
Emma: (After looking me up and down, noting my sweatpants and sweatshirt) "And you ... DO NOT!"

Enjoy the hop!

If you missed Cindy's wonderful work head back there......

Otherwise check out Lou's great project!

I used the sketch at Cas(e) this Sketch for my design.

A Craftaholic!

I am headed to Heidi Baks' shoebox swap next week so it is time to get serious about creating my kits and swaps!  Besides making up 21 shoebox kits,  I need to make cards for a humorous swap.  Newton is looking pretty crafty here and actually has no intention of giving it all up - as you can see from the inside sentiment!  I can so relate!  Now I am wondering if I wear a sweat band when I craft would it count as cardio?

I used the sketch at Global Design Project for my card today.

Fusion: Nature

I received a lovely note from the Mistress of Hogwarts this week telling me that I had been accepted for training at Hogwarts.  So naturally I had to send a reply to tell her I was excited about joining the class!  If you are a Harry Potter fan you will remember the owl delivered hundreds of letters inviting him to Hogwarts.  So I included a few on my card along with the sorting hat that I am sure Headmistress Emma will recognize!  I am excited about my wizarding classes but a bit worried about walking through the brick wall at the train station.....

I used images from a Harry Potter themed set called Snapes Alive and took my inspiration from the Fusion challenge this week.  I followed the sketch and pulled colors from the inspiration photo!  What inspires you?  Join us at Fusion!

There is a brand new challenge called The Spot and it is starting with a Getting To Know You Challenge.  I am sure they would all like to know a soon-to-be wizard.....lol....

Tropical Hello - FMS425

This summery, tropical card gives me hope that summer is not too far away.  But the picture shows what our mornings have actually looked like this week.......a bit foggy as our above freezing temps have started the snow melting process!  Not quite tropical but the battles over wearing a winter coat have already started!

Cecile's sketch is delightful this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Hope you join us!

Stamp Set: Label Me Bold, Tropical Chic
Ink: Real Red, Blushing Bride, Distress Oxides
Paper: Whisper White, Tropical Oasis DSP

I brushed Pine Needles, Lucky Clover and Scattered Straw Distress inks on white and then diecut the leaves from Wild Greeneryby MFT.  The flower stamp from Tropical Chic was inked using SU markers Real Red and Blushing Bride before stamping . I love that look of using markers -  it works best on rubber.
