You Asked for It!

OK Angie, Jen, LeAnne and Nance - you asked for it!  Had to go in the attic and dig but I found a faded old snapshot of me my first year of teaching - long hair, mini skirt, and platform shoes.  Interesting that we couldn't wear pants to school but miniskirts were perfectly ok! Some guy must have made that rule!  This shot was taken toward the end of the school year at "not yet my husband's" college graduation.  Ahhh the 70's............

It wasn't long before we were all in maxi skirts and boots!

There is a bit of stamping to report in this post.  I have been 4 days working on my daughter's baby shower invites.  She liked a recent thank you card I made for her so I modeled them after this card.  All I have left to do is address the envelopes.  Mass production makes me crazy - each card required 7 trips through the Big Shot - times 40 cards - yikes!

After all of that talk about bedazzled bunnies Erin decided simple flowers with button centers worked best so we are doing a "Cute as a Button" theme.

Celebrate Your Birthday! PPA136

Ahhh red, white and blue - nautical or patriotic?  Since I get seasick just watching The Deadliest Catch I decided patriotic was the way to go!  With a bit of sparkly silver this card is perfect for a July birthday!

Show us your red, white and blue this week at Pals Paper Arts~!

Oh Boy! FMS38

This card is off to a wonderful friend of mine who welcomed her first grandson this week.  We met as brand new teachers way back in 1971 when we were assigned neighboring classrooms and have been friends ever since. We were something else with our long straight hair, mini skirts and platform shoes..........seems like yesterday............

Hope you join us at Freshly Made Sketches this week!

Behind the Scenes - FMS 37

Ever wonder what goes on behind the scenes on a challenge site like Freshly Made Sketches? It takes a lot of organization and e-mails to keep things going! There are time zones to contend with, sketches to design, posts to write and deadlines to meet.  Oh and then we all have "real life" going on as well.  Lesley keeps us on track - in spite of the craziness and everyone helps out.  We have a design team blog where we post our cards, our picks, our text and somehow magically everything appears as scheduled on the FMS site.  Notice I say magically because as the Senior Citizen of the group I am not assigned  major computer tasks - I have Lesley and Jen on speed dial for all of my computer issues.  (Remember I am the gal who shut off the main computer system in the library with her earring!)  Keeping the baby blog hop a secret from Rita was not easy but Lesley had a plan!  We all designed a decoy card to post on our DT site so Rita would see them when she added hers.  Then Lesley snuck in very late at night, took out the decoys and posted the Blog Hop list. I love it when a plan all comes together!  Just thought you might like to see my decoy card - so glad we were able to surprise Rita!
