Dog Tales.....FMS228

Being a dog lover and the grandmother to two part dachsund pups I couldn't resist this set from Newton's Nook called Delightful Doxies.  The balloon is from SU's Celebrate today and the sentiment from Honeycomb Happiness.  But there is a backstory to this card.......here is the first design I made for this sketch.....

I went to bed shortly after finishing the card but didn't sleep well.  Every time I woke up I thought about that pup hanging on to that balloon......if he ever let go he would surely die! Who knew card making could be so stressful?!?!?  So I got up early and totally reworked the front panel!  I am much happier knowing that pup is just bouncing around in the grass!

Here's our Corduroy - his mother was half dachsund and so was his father - not sure where his size or that glorious tail came from though......

The very talented Kim Singdahlsen has a great sketch for us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Hope you play along!  Just don't leave anyone hanging in mid-air without a parachute!

Too funny, Linda! The card(s) are adorable! The first one reminded me of that movie where the eagle picks up the tiny pup, who's taken a cell phone) and flies off. Your pup does look happy holding onto that big balloon though!

Love your cards! And I agree, who knew that making cards could cause you to loose sleep? It would be very sad if your little pup let go of that balloon string. ;) Although that thought would have never crossed my mind if you hadn't mentioned it. :)

I love this card, Linda. I immediately went to Newton's Nook and order this set. As I write this, my 17 year old little Doxie is snoring away next to me! Your Corduroy is just adorable with his plume-like tail.

Love this card Linda, great job. Could you tell me where the dog came from. It is a die cut or made by a stamp set. Would love to find that dog and case this cute card.

Oh Linda, you're hilarious! I love that little pup hanging from the balloon! What a fabulous idea! Love the grass! So cute!

It absolutely would not have occurred to me, but now all I see when I look at your first card is the puppy hanging on for dear life! I can't say your reasoning would have occurred to me - but I do like the grass and enamel flowers on the second - it adds grounding (literally and artistically!)

Great card and story behind it...It seems I am not the only one to have card ideas weave through their dreams!

Thank goodness that pup has a soft place to land in case of balloon failure! And I think I've woken up a time or two to find myself thinking about a card design. How we suffer for our craft!
