After retiring from 34 years of teaching I looked forward to lazy mornings and unscheduled days. Then the strangest thing happened.......I wasn't enjoying all that free time as much as I thought I would. One night the Big Guy put the local newspaper in front of me and said, "There's a part time job available at the library - you need to apply."
So for 12 years now I have been a part time library clerk at our local library and love it. This week we had a dinner in honor of our librarian who is completing her 20th year. She's a great gal and I was honored to make the invites. And yes the story about the Big Guy telling me I needed a job was brought up at dinner!
The eclipse technique worked well on this card because it added interest and still kept the card flat for mailing.

Awesome invites! Perfect for the dinner...good thing that he told you to apply! ;)
Great card! Don't you already have a job that you love and now will have more time to spend developing it even further.
Congrats on your retirement and next to your career change.
Really like this card! What a great one for the occasion!!!
These are fabulous! And I love the way you've stamped over the numbers. How many did you have to make?
Simply beautiful invites, Linda. It looks like you made quite a few. I LOVE your eclipse CAS design. I would have called it inlaid design. Whichever...your cards are beautiful. Hugs...
So cute and a wonderful eclipse technique! You always do the cutest cards with those books!
Love the die cut, inlaid years and the cute bookshelves, just perfect to celebrate the head librarian and her milestone achievement!
Beautiful cards! Love the design. Have a great day!
LOVE IT! Congrats to your friend for 20 years in the library, and congrats to you for making such an awesome card! Here's the problem...there's sure to be shouts of "hooray" when people receive these - let's hope their not in the quiet library at the time. <3 LOVE!
What a fun part-time job that must be, Linda... and first dibs on all those new books!
That friend of yours must have been delighted with the invitations you've created - well done! and adorable!

Wow, Linda! I'm totally in love with your amazing card! It's absolutely perfect for this special birthday. Love how the 20 seems to pop out of the image. Gorgeous and so clever!
Absolutely perfect invites! Love your use of the technique.
The Big Guy knows best....And how lucky that the library has a talented stamper on staff who can make fabbo invitations!
