Cool Birthday...FMS495

Yes the new Stampin' Up! set Penguin Place will make adorable holiday cards but I love that the set includes a few added images and sentiments to make this set more versatile.  A fun sentiment and a backdrop of gifts and ice cream cones creates a cool birthday card to use in any season!

It is summer here but we have had the craziest stormiest rainiest July that I can remember......so much rain, flooding, storms and wind!  I took Emma to softball practice this week and parked the car in a shady spot to read while she practiced.  Out of nowhere (and not predicted)......this happened.....

She was on the field just past that tree - couldn't even see the field!  She ran back to the car but she was soaked!  We managed to make our way back to her house just in time as her road was closed when the end of it flooded.  40 minutes of crazy heavy rain will do this.....

....and this.....

Fortunately damage in her area was minimal.  A neighboring town was totally flooded and my house five miles to the north never got a drop of rain.  Nothing like upstate New York weather!

I am with the little penguin here - I will take a good snowstorm any day!

Have fun with Amy's great sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!

Such a cute card! That little penguin is just the cutest! Oh my goodness, that looks like a big mess! Hopefully they were able to keep the water out of their basement. And hopefully the water went away quickly too!

Such a cutie! You've really made this penguin shine - and I adore how you've interpreted this sketch. The rain in your pictures is unbelievable! We've had a lot of it too, with small breaks between heavy downpours, but it's almost always expected.

Why is it I pick out my 5 favorite sets from the holiday catalog and BEGORE THE CATALOG GOES LIVE I end up with 20 sets because of people like you! Lol
The weather here has been HOT HOT HOT! Could you please ship some of that rain our way - the West Coast could definitely use it!

This was such an adorable card. I love those cute little penguins. Wow you must have had our much needed rain as we haven't had any real significant rain this summer at all. It's been hot & dry.

I wasn't able to get my card done in time for the challenge but I did use the sketch and if you'd like you can view my card from the link.

Crazy weather - it made instant swimming pools of the yards and the roads!!!

I love the little penguin scene you created! Having his balloon be the top element is such a creative idea!!
